25 New Ideas for Your Fall Family Bucket List
Fall has slowly become my favorite time of the year. Maybe it’s all the quality time, the cool temperatures or the food, but I love when the seasons change. Last year I made a post about items to add to your fall bucket list. There might be some repeats, but below are 25 New Ideas for Your Fall Family Bucket List. I hope you can try a few new things this year, make memories and possibly new traditions.
1. Take a Trip to the Zoo
It wouldn’t be a Chelsea Bucket List if we didn’t take a trip to the zoo, am I right? The Zoo is so pretty in the fall and they usually have fun activities.
2. Bake a Pie
When I think of fall I always think of pie. It’s not even my favorite dessert, but my husband loves apple pie and I love the smell of baked goods in our home.
3. Go Apple Picking
If you are going to bake an apple pie, you could make it a family event by picking the apples yourself! This item is on our bucket list this year and I can’t wait!
4. Watch Fall Movies
Colton and I made an ultimate list of fall movies, so we are going to try and check a few off the list this season. (A few, because we are parents now and movie night is rare, but you could try and tackle the whole list!)
5. Go on a Hike
We already went on our first fall hike this year, but I am ready for many more. I’m such a sucker for falling leaves.
6. Listen to Bluegrass
You are either thinking “YES!” or “Ew, what?” But trust me… there is something beautiful and very fall about bluegrass.
7. Make Chili
Making chili is one of my husband’s favorite things to do in the fall. You could even go to a chili feed! I you have those in your area… is that a a midwest thing maybe?
8. Watch Football
Football… it wouldn’t be fall without it in our house.
9. Make Homemade Granola
Another new item on my fall bucket list this year is making homemade granola. I’m excited to try a pumpkin recipe, too. We shall see how it goes!
10. Make Applesauce
If you have some leftover apples from your pie baking day, why not try and make some homemade applesauce?
11. Try the Farmer’s Market
If you haven’t gone to the farmer’s market this year, fall is the perfect time to start. You could even pick a pumpkin to carve or paint or eat!
12. Sit By the Fire
I can not wait for the weather to cool down enough that we can enjoy our fireplace. Bring on the comfy blanket and flickering flames!
13. Read a Book
I’ve been trying to make reading a priority this year, so I plan to read a few books in the fall, but if reading isn’t your thing you could start with one!
14. Go to the State Fair
Every year my family tries to make it to our state fair. If you haven’t gone to the fair in your area, I highly recommend. Fair food is delicious and there are so many things to see and do.
15. Host an Outdoor Movie Night
Hosting an outdoor movie night is the most ambitious item of my 25 New Ideas for Your Fall Family Bucket List. If it goes well I will definitely share all the tips and tricks!
16. Go Camping
Camping isn’t my favorite, but my husband is very excited to try camping with our daughter. They are going to start by camping in the house, which can be fun!
17. Explore a Corn Maze
Again, this might be a midwest thing, but it wouldn’t be fall without a good corn maze.
18. Take a Long Drive
If you live in an area with trees that change color, taking a long drive in the country is such a soothing fall activity.
19. Prioritize a Night Away
If you are parents you know the importance of time to yourself. Try to make a night away from the kids a priority this Fall.
20. Start a Garden
We have so many exciting ideas for our backyard. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!
21. Sit in a Rocking Chair
Arguably the best fall family activity is sitting in a rocking chair and just enjoying the cool air. My inner old woman just loves it.
22. Decorate Your Home
We already decorated our home for fall, because I like to enjoy my decor before I have to take it down for Christmas. There’s something special about welcoming the changing seasons by refreshing your home.
23. Buy a Cozy Sweater
Speaking of refreshing, is there anything better than a cozy sweater? No. I thought not.
24. Attend a Fall Festival
If you don’t count the state fair there are plenty of other festivals happening throughout the fall. Pick one and take a chance on something new!
25. Trick-Or-Treat
If you are a parent you might already be trick-or-treating with your kiddos, but if you don’t have kids you could try volunteering at a local trunk-or-treat to give back! Or hand out candy at home.
