4 Scriptures to Pray Over Your Kids this School Year
Last week I was convicted about the depth of my prayers. I pray for my family every day, but to be honest those prayers tend to be very surface level, short and basic. I know God hears me and sees my heart, but I want to be more intentional. If you are looking to be more purposeful in prayer over your kids, this post is for you. Read below to discover 4 Scriptures to Pray Over Your Kids this School Year.
1. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made...” – Psalm 139:13-14
It is my hope and prayer that my daughter knows who she truly is in Christ. We can pray over our kids this year to find rest in who God is and how much He loves them. He knit them together, which is such an intimate process. God loves our kids far more than we could ever imagine, so let’s pray that they would come to know that love.
2. “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands...” – Psalm 91:11-12
Let us pray for protection over our kids while they are at school. May He guard them and protect them not just physically, but emotionally and mentally.
3. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...” – Romans 12:2
As Christians, we are called to stand apart. Let us pray that this year our children would not conform to the things of this world, but choose to follow God. May they be sanctified each and ever day and choose the right path over what it easy.
4. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…” – James 1:5
Lord, grant our children wisdom. Each day they are in school, may you grow their knowledge of this world and help them to make good choices. Help their hearts and minds to be open to learning. Help them to be kind to their teachers and receptive toward what they have to say. And Father, prepare the hearts and minds of the educators. Help them to communicate to our children well and be patient as our children grow into who you’ve called them to be.
