6 Powerful Bible Verses to Pray Over Your Toddler
Scripture says we are to “pray without ceasing,” and I keep thinking about that verse in 1 Thessalonians 5 in regards to my life as a mother. For some reason prayer always seems to take the back seat, because I feel like I never have time for it, but I can talk to God any time of day. Below are 6 Powerful Bible Verses to Pray Over Your Toddler. If you are a mama like me just looking for a place to start, I hope this might be of help.
1. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” -Proverbs 9:10
Wisdom is the “soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment.” Pray that your little one will grow in wisdom, learning from mistakes and successes along the way. Pray that through obtaining that wisdom they would grow to know the Lord better.
2. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23
Oh how I so deeply pray that God would protect my daughters heart. I pray that she would be diligent in keeping her eyes so locked on Jesus that no man could distract her unless he was chasing after God just as much. Pray that God would guard the minds of your toddler. That everything that flows from their hearts be good, holy and pure.
3. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Pray for the salvation of your toddler, that he or she might grow to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. There’s nothing more important for us to do. You could also pray for God to prepare you to show the love of Christ to them daily, that they might see his presence around them always through you.
4. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1
The next of our 6 Powerful Bible Verses to Pray Over Your Toddler if Psalm 133:1. Pray for your child’s future friends, that they would be surrounded by others who love you and will support them. My hope for Ronia is that she would find a solid core group of friends to grow up with and learn from and that she would be a good friend in return.
5. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.” -1 Corinthians 12:4-5
We are all given a specific and unique set of gifts, so pray that your toddler will not only find that calling, but use their gifts well. May they honor and glorify the Lord in whatever they choose to do in the future. And for yourself, pray that you would be equipped to support them in that journey.
6. “I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” -Psalm 139:14
One of my biggest prayers for my toddler is that she will know who she is through the eyes of our Father in Heaven and that she would never doubt it. I pray she would know she is a princess, the daughter of the One True King. I pray that knowledge gives her comfort and strength and that no one would take it from her.
