A Simple and Subtle Autumn Dining Table Setting
Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, so I thought I would share our ideas for a fall table setting. Fall is an excellent time to gather together and enjoy some good food. There’s just something about eating a meal with the people you love. Read below to discover more about A Simple and Subtle Autumn Dining Table Setting.

1. Utilize different textures.
One thing I love about our dining table setting this year is the texture of the placemats and the pumpkins. I’m a sucker for wicker and rattan and anything like it. These woven grass pumpkins are from Hobby Lobby and the placemats I got on Amazon.
2. Find a proper table runner.
It took me awhile to find the right table runner. It turns out our table is a little longer than the standard, so most runners look a little out of place there. However, I was able to find one on Amazon that suits the space.
Can I confess something? This is my first table runner! I love it, because its a little transparent, so it doesn’t completely cover up the beautiful wood underneath. If you are looking for a minimal runner, I highly recommend this one for your autumn dining table.
3. Invest in cloth napkins.
Paper napkins are not only bad for the environment, but they usually don’t wipe your face well. I snagged these cute plaid napkins at Hobby Lobby this year, and I love them so much more than the ones we found there last year. They are soft and absorbent – exactly what a napkin should be.
4. Choose your fall decor.
Like I said before, I am a sucker for a textured pumpkin. I chose to keep it simple this year and line them up next to each other on the table. However, a nice candelabra or long dish with pinecones or something could also look nice at the center of the table. Keep in mind that whatever you put there will likely be moved to make way for food.
5. Get a little fancy.
Why don’t we set the table anymore? Why don’t we sit down to dinner at an actual table? It baffles me. Some of my fondest memories are of my family being crammed together at a long table, talking over one another and eating delicious food. This autumn, I encourage you to take the time to set your table. Add a little extra love and care to your meal. It will be worth it.
6. Set a date to have dinner with your loved ones.
Whether it be on Thanksgiving or another day this fall, I encourage you to set a dinner date. The food doesn’t have to be fancy. Put together a crockpot of chili and some corn bread. Or go all out and make a four course meal with a drool-worthy dessert. You could even host a pot-luck situation. The important thing is to gather. Fill your home with a melody of laughter and the comfort of family, whatever and whomever that is for you.
