Educational Toys Your Toddler will Love
Our daughter will be starting preschool soon, so we’ve been working on a few small things to help her prepare for that transition. One of those things is integrating more educational toys into our play time. It’s so fun to watch her learn! Based on what she liked I compiled a list of 9 Educational Toys Your Toddler will Love.

1. Magnetic Letter Board
First on our list of educational toys is a magnetic letter board. We love this toy, because it helps our daughter learn tracing, the alphabet, writing and strengthens her fine motor skills. The magnets are pretty powerful, so just know your little one might have some trouble tracing at first.
2. Doctor Kit
One of my daughters favorite toys is her doctor kit. She loves pretending to heal people in the family and her own toys. We like to talk to her about the different tools a doctor would use and how they work, etc.
3. Counting Ladybugs
The counting ladybugs are so much fun. My daughter mostly loves that the daisies on the outside of their bag are removable, but we use the ladybugs to hide around the house or count their spots.
4. Busy Book
Perhaps my favorite educational tool we have for our daughter are these busy book pages. I found a printable on Etsy and laminated the pieces myself. The project took a bit of time, but it was so worth it. My daughter loves to play the little “games” on each page and feels so proud when she completes them by herself.
5. Layered Cheeseburger
You might be wondering how a cheeseburger can be educational, and believe me I was too. This layering cheeseburger is actually a pattern toy. It comes with cards that tell you what order to layer the cheeseburger and you have to match it. It’s so fun and is also a great addition for our daughter’s play kitchen.
6. Alphabet Fish
The alphabet fish game is fun, because it comes with a magnetic fishing pole. You can catch the fish and then talk about what letter you got. This game is still a little advanced for my daughter, because she doesn’t know her letters yet, but I’m excited to see how that changes once she can identify the letters. It’s also a good toy to use when learning colors.
7. Flash Cards
Flash cards are a staple item in our daily play. They have some for shapes, colors, numbers, and so much more. You can use flash cards for memorization, sorting, building a house of cards, etc.
8. Locks & Keys
We recently purchases these lock and key sets to help our daughter with her color matching and fine motor skills. She still needs a little help figuring out the key part. The locks are also an excellent tool to learn counting.
9. Life Cycle Puzzle
Another recent purchase is our life cycle puzzle. We often talk about the life cycle of animal while we are out in the yard. For example, our daughter is very interested in how caterpillars become butterflies and tadpoles become frogs. I thought this would be a fun way to help her learn.
Bonus: Books
Although not an official part of this list, I also recommend books as an educational tool. Reading books with your little one is one of the best things you can do to help them learn.
