How to Create an Ocean-Themed Water Table
Recently I was inspired by other moms on Instagram to create a fun water table for my toddler. Our daughter struggles to enjoy playing in the water. We decided to change up our outdoor summer setup in order to facilitate better play. So far she loves it! Read below to learn How to Create an Ocean-Themed Water Table.

1. Choose a Water Table
We had a small used water table that my daughter just never played with, so when a cute purple one went on sale I decided to snag it. The Step2 Rain Showers & Unicorns Kids Water Table comes with many accessories and has two tiers, so you can make it rain by putting water at the top of the table. We love it! But if you are looking to save some money you can always find water tables on Facebook Marketplace or on sale during the Prime Day sales.
2. Add Some Extra Accessories
I saw a woman on Instagram makeover her water table with all sorts of fun pool toys, so I decided to try something similar. We found these wind-up turtles that swim around as well as some mechanical fish. They are technically cat toys, but my daughter loves them all the same. And as a final addition I added her Ariel bath toys to the table.
3. Try Pretty Rocks
I had a vision of adding some pretty iridescent fish tank rocks to the bottom of our water table, and we did… but I underestimated how much rock was included in my order. The box maybe came with a cup full. We might need a it more to make it work, but my daughter doesn’t really care.
4. Start the Bubble Machine
Bubbles floating through the air just makes everything more magical, and it also plays into that ocean theme. We have a Minnie bubble machine for such occasions, but you can find all sorts of automated bubble machines on Amazon.
5. Don’t Forget the Shade
The key to playing with the water table is shade. You don’t want to bake in the sun and neither does your little one. Try propping up an umbrella, move your water table under a tree or place it on the porch. The longer your little one can stay comfortable, the longer they will play.
