1. Buy Bath Sheets (Not Towels)
Have you ever wrapped yourself in a towel after a long hot shower only to find that towel covers 40% of your body? A tiny towel is the absolute worst. Turns out there is this amazing invention called the bath sheet. If you are tall like me, or just want to be fully covered and cozy, you need a bath sheet like this one. It’s an excellent first step for creating a spa bathroom on a budget.
2. Choose Bath Salts & Soaps
Is there anything more hygge than a nice, long hot bath? After a long day at work, it’s nice to relax in the tub. The right bath salts and soaps like these can make your bathroom even more spa-like. There are many healthy benefits connected to taking a a salt bath. These benefits include: building immunity, increasing energy, soothing muscles, promoting restful sleep, improving skin health and so much more.
Bonus tip: Create a hygge bathroom by removing product labels and place all your products in clear containers like these found on Amazon.
3. Infuse Nature
Many bathrooms are built without a window or skylight. Natural lighting is best for a spa bathroom, but if you are without a window try adding fake plants to your decor. Studies show that greenery in your home or work space has been proven to improve mental, spiritual, and physical health. Now, if you do have a window with adequate lighting for an indoor plant that is even better. Just bring a little nature indoors for your spa bathroom on a budget.
4. Invest in a Robe & Slippers
When I think of a trip to the spa, I think of a nice cushy robe and slippers. Buying a robe like this one is definitely a worth while investment for your spa bathroom on a budget. Slippers can be a little tricky, so if you can’t find a pair you like I suggest trying a pair of big cozy socks. Equally cozy and budget friendly!
5. Switch to Sustainable Products
If you are looking to create a spa bathroom on a budget, be sure to remember sustainable products. The term spa denotes a healthy environment and a relaxing atmosphere. Now, I am not recommending you throw out all your single use bathroom products immediately. Take it one step at a time. When you are done using your plastic loofah, try out a more sustainable option like this one. Your spa bathroom on a budget will feel complete and luxurious with environmentally friendly products.
6. Try Bamboo Accents
Speaking of sustainable options… Bamboo accents like these can bring your bathroom from ordinary to spa-like in minutes. Bamboo is also kind to sensitive skin, super absorbent and is known to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It’s the perfect material for a bathroom. Try a bamboo shelf, toothbrush, or shower mat to create a spa bathroom on a budget.
