Ronia Recommends: 12 Spring Board Books for Your Baby
It’s time for another installment of Ronia Recommends: 12 Spring Board Books for Your Baby. All of the books below have been tried and tested (and honestly chewed on) by my 15 month old. If you are looking for a good boo for your baby, then I highly recommend these books for Spring. Full disclosure, half the list is Easter-related. I could not help myself.

1. Backyard Bugs by Jill McDonald
All of the books in the Hello World Series are excellent. Ronia especially likes Backyard Bugs and the Garden one, which would also be a good pic for spring. The illustrations are colorful and very baby friendly. It’s almost like a seek and find for her and the content will continue to educate and entertain her as she grows.
2. Sheep in a Shop by Nancy Shaw
You might be wondering… Chelsea, how is Sheep in a Shop a Spring board book? Well, spoiler alert, the sheep have a birthday party in the Spring at the end of the book. You gotta love a good rhyming book with five silly sheep.
3. Spring Stinks by Ryan T Higgins
Technically this is not a board book, but it’s small and easy to read to your baby. The Bruce books are so clever and fun to read. Bruce is my spirit animal sometimes. If you know you know.
4. You’re my Little Lucky Charm by Natalie Marshall
If you’ve read my previous bard book posts you know how fond I am of this series. They are sweet affirmations for your little one. This particular one is obviously themed for St. Partricks Day and would be an excellent addition to any baby bookshelf.
5. Little Blue Truck’s Springtime by Alice Schertle
Another favorite series of ours is the Little Blue Truck. This one is not a board book per se, but the pages are thicker and they have flaps to lift to reveal some of the story. Ronia loves to uncover what’s beneath them.
6. The Classic Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter
I’m trying to add more classic tales to Ronia’s collection, and I thought what better place to start than Peter Rabbit. I consider it a spring book because of the rabbit, but perhaps that’s me thinking of Easter?
7. An Easter Prayer by Amy Parker
An Easter Prayer is a simple book, but it’s also Touch-and-Feel. Ronia is really loving more interactive books lately and this is one of them. It would also make a great book to put in an Easter basket.
8. Don’t Push the Button: an Easter Surprise by Bill Cotter
This might be my favorite book of the Don’t Push the Button series. It’s so creative and interactive! Ronia doesn’t quite understand how to follow all the instructions, but this book will certainly grow with her. I can’t wait until she connects the dots.
9. Llama Llama Easter Egg by Anna Dewdney
We can’t have a book list without Llama Llama, can we? There’s just something about these books that’s so soothing and innocent. I love reading them to her.
10. Egg: A Chasing, Racing Egg Hunt
Egg is another favorite of Ronia’s at the moment. She loves to put her little fingers through the holes where the egg should be. She uses them to turn the pages and flip it back and forth. It’s actually kind of cute.
11. Happy Easter, Mouse by Laura Numeroff
Happy Easter, Mouse is another book that sort of works as a search and find. You are always looking for different colored eggs, which is a great way to introduce the egg-hunting tradition.
12. The Story of Easter by Patricia A Pingry
I saved the best for last, and what could be better than a board book about the true reason for the season? This book about the Biblical Easter story is beautifully done and a good way to introduce a more complex story to your baby.
