Summertime Scriptures for When You’re Burnt Out
Summertime can be filled with quality family time and fun activities, but do you ever feel a little burnt out in the summer months? As an introvert, I certainly struggle with the balance between enjoying the warmer months and doing too much. If you feel the same way I do, this blog post is for you. Read below to discover 5 Summertime Scriptures for When You’re Burnt Out.
1. “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” – Jeremiah 31:25
Burn out makes you feel so weak, but it’s important to remember that God is our strength. The word “refresh” in Jeremiah 31:25 means to bathe, drench or saturate. The Lord will refresh us completely when we go to Him.
2. “From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” – Psalm 61:2
It is easy to get lost thinking only of ourselves when we walk through a difficult season. Raise your eyes to Jesus and let you mind dwell on Him.
3. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
There is a time for rest when we are feeling burnt out, but even in our rest we should not give up the fight. Keeping going.
4. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” -Psalm 28:7
Our hearts leap for joy, even in the middle of a difficult season, because of who our God is.
5. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet He did not sin.” -Hebrew 4:15
How beautiful is it that our God understands our weakness, our struggles and our pain. He knows. We can take comfort in that knowledge.
