Where to Find the Best Pretend Play Clothes
My daughter loves to play dress-up. She is currently in a phase where we go through maybe four or five outfits a day. She loves to play princess especially, but will also wander the house dressed as a bat or pumpkin or even an Ewok. If your little one loves pretend play, this post is for you. 1. Only Little Once
My absolute favorite place to buy pretend play clothes is from Only Little Once. Now, the costumes might seem a little pricy, but I am telling you they are worth every penny. The fabric is so soft and the outfits are well made. We’ve had their Princess Peach dress for less than a couple weeks and I’ve already had to wash it four times, but it looks brand new! They also have adult costumes, which is so nice for things like Halloween or doing to a Disney park. Only Little Once is definitely 10/10.
2. Little Adventures
One of my good friends shops often at Little Adventures. She said the princess dresses their are easily washed and everything is well made. I can’t speak to the shop personally, but it came with such a high recommendation that I thought I would share!
3. Taylor Joelle
Another of my favorite places to buy pretend play clothes is Taylor Joelle Designs. They have the cutest Harry Potter stuff as well as some adorable outfits for Christmas time. Much like Only Little Once the clothes are well made, a little thicker and very soft.
4. Jane
I’ve found some really cute dress-up clothes on Jane.com. Ronia’s Winnie the Pooh dress came from there and was a fraction of the price compared to similar dresses on Etsy. I will say you are taking a little risk when you order from Jane, because some of the dresses are very thin or fall apart quickly.
5. Etsy
Speaking of Etsy, you can find some really cute pretend play clothes from dozens of small shops. If supporting a small business is important to you, then I definitely recommend checking out the listings there. You might pay a little more, but they will almost certainly be good quality and you can pass them down through generations.
6. Walmart
Walmart has some adorable princess dresses right now. They are very durable and remind of me some that I have seen at Old Navy. The dresses at Old Navy have been sold out recently, so these are a great money-saving alternative.
7. Consignment Stores
If you are looking to save some money when it comes to buying pretend play clothes, I encourage you to look at consignment stores or Facebook market place. You can always find gently used dresses, capes and costumes for much less than originally priced.
