Why Owning Plants is an Excellent Idea
Well, it finally happened. I became a plant mama. Now, we used to poke fun at people who kept so many plants inside their home, but after reading about the benefits, it was hard to deny Why Owning Plants is an Excellent Idea. If you are on the fence about owning a few of your own indoor plants, read below to learn what we learned. You might just change your mind!
1. Owning Indoor Plants Improves the Air Quality.
The first reason owning indoor plants is an excellent idea is that plants improve the air quality. Many things in our home create air pollution, including but not limited to: paint, cleaning products, diapers, and mildew. Indoor plants improve air quality by removing cancer-causing chemicals, and studies have found that even the soil in your plants can clean the air. Fascinating.
2. Indoor Plants Reduce Stress and Help Your Overall Well-Being.
Studies have shown that indoor plants can improve your focus, decrease bad moods and lessen anxiety. How? Well, caring for plants has been shown to be significantly less stressful than a typical desk job. It’s quiet and peaceful work, and when your mind and body are relaxed, it improves your blood pressure and overall state of mind.
3. Indoor Plants Can Help You Keep From Getting Sick.
A 2007 study showed that those with more plants in their workspace took fewer sick days and they were more productive on the job. There have also been multiple studies that showed people recuperating from surgery needed less pain medication and went home sooner than people without plants in their room during the recovery period. Basically, plants can actually heal you. How cool is that?
